In July 2017 we opened the Barbara Weider House (BWH) dedicated to youth aged 16-24 facing homelessness. Thanks to the generosity of Ray & Wyn Smith of Applevale properties and a lead donation from George Weider in memory of his wife Barbara, we built a 6-bedroom, 7-bed facility for youth at risk of homelessness. At the Barbara Weider House we provide safe transitional housing, coupled with access to counseling and social and life skills programs to help our clients successfully rebuild their lives and transition to independent living and adulthood. In addition we offer programs to additional youth in the community and on our waiting list aimed at empowering and educating them with the skills and abilities needed to make positive, healthy life choices about their future in addition to support navigating the services they need.
