Home Horizon brought little artists and local professional artists together for its 14th annual Bowls for Beds fundraiser.

Bowls for Beds (and Bids!) was an amazing event and fundraiser! We hosted two events: the sale of beautiful handmade bowls (fired by local potter, Sandra Saunders), which were hand-painted by local, elementary school students; and then our annual “Bowls for Bids” where we auctioned off 32 unique, hand-painted bowls by local, celebrated artists, these bowls were made by Georgian Bay Pottery. We held the auction on-line to continue to increase awareness of our organization. Through these initiatives, we were able to successfully raise just over $28,000.

Thank you to our Lead Sponsors Crozier Consulting Engineers and MJ Byrnes Irish Pub and to our supporting sponsors, the elementary schools, young artists, local professional and celebrated artists and to our amazing volunteers.

Home Horizon is a local not-for-profit organization helping homeless youth in the South Georgian Bay area. Our mission is to transform the lives of youth at risk of homelessness by providing them with the opportunity to rebuild their lives and achieve their full potential. The need is so great that the Barbara Weider House has been full since it opened in July 2017 and there is an ongoing waiting list for our services. Youth continue to desperately want and need our help!

For more information or to purchase a 2023 bowl(s), please contact Deb Piggott, Fund Development Manager at debpiggott@homehorizon.ca or phone at 705-888-3636. We have more bowls… you can help by purchasing some – they make amazing gifts filled with candy, chocolate, spa or simply a gift certificate, you receive a partial tax receipt AND they come with a voucher for ice-cream from Pom Pom. All proceeds go to directly to Home Horizon and the Barbara Weider House.
